  • Silver Stallion Bicycle and Coffeeworks

There are currently no bike shops across the Navajo Nation. Silver Stallion Bicycle & Coffee Works is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit bike & coffee shop servicing the needs of Gallup, New Mexico and the surrounding, rural areas. Our mission is to empower and develop youth and young adults vocational skills in the bicycle repair and specialty coffee industries.

This fall we have repaired 421 bikes for free across the communities of Crownpoint, NM, Fort Defiance AZ, Chinle, AZ, Many Farms, AZ, Nazlini, AZ, and Rockpoint AZ while employing up to 6 local mechanics per event. Through on-going Silver Stallion Mobile Ride Center programming rural locations beyond Gallup can begin to flourish in regard to increased ridership, camaraderie, trail development, general health and well-being.

Appreciate and acknowledge that this work is messy and ongoing.

  • War Party Movement

Our women and girls are being taken from us in an alarming way. As of 2016, the National Crime Information Center has reported 5,712 cases of missing American Indian and Alaska Native women and girls. Strikingly, the U.S Department of Justice missing persons database has only reported 116 cases. The majority of these murders are committed by non-Native people on Native-owned land.

The lack of communication combined with jurisdictional issues between state, local, federal, and tribal law enforcement, make it nearly impossible to begin the investigative process.

  • Cloud City Wheelers

Formed in 2007 after a devoted group of cyclists saw the need for an organized voice in the community. With the spirit of the original Cloud City Wheelmen group of the 1800s we strive to serve the community of Leadville. We now play host to races and events, family group rides, ride to work days, volunteer days, trail building and maintenance, adult group rides all while trying to create and promote new and existing trails as an economic driver in Lake County.

Afghanistan is home to some of the world's tallest mountains. Its spectacular landscape is perfect for outdoor sports and adventure tourism. Mt. Noshaq in Badakhshan province is 24,580 feet tall. But this crucial fact is hardly known, as popular media have overwhelmingly focused on reporting war.
