Welcome to Thunder Mountainworks

Thunder Mountainworks was born from a simple idea: create art, share adventures, and increase awesomeness.

I’m John Kelley and I live in Bend, Oregon. I like to make art and play outside.

I am an artist, poet, and creator - and the founder/CCO>CFO of Thunder Mountainworks. As an artist, I share my love of wild places, work to protect them, build community, and show that it is possible to believe in a world (and be a part of creating one) in which these places continue to exist for all of us.

I’ve been blessed to travel the world working in independent school leadership, non-profit consulting, coaching, experiential education, global education, and environmental service, and as an adjunct “professor of climbing” at Prescott College.

I hope you enjoy the site, that it inspires you to create art, have adventures, and do something awesome in the service of others today.
